I absolutely love this series! Eoin Colfer is so witty in his writing, with additions like Butler the butler, LEPrecon for a fae-based secret police organization, and can't forget the sardonic pessimism that is the main character, Artemis! As this series progresses, you can really see him growing up and being changed by those around him; he really is a most dynamic character.

This book is about Artemis, a (very) young, rich, and determined criminal genius looking for unique ways to solve his family's problems. His dad is missing--presumed dead--and his mom did not take the news well, experiencing a mental breakdown and barely able to recognize her own son. The imagination of a child coupled with his supreme intellect leads him to the discovery of the one thing that just might help: the magic of fairies. His mission leads him to kidnapping young LEPrecon fairy Captain Holly Short--and the last thing she wants to do is help a human like him! Still, Artemis is determined to get what he wants, by any means necessary.

I would really recommend this book for anyone who likes a bit of adventure and fantasy, and characters that you can really invest your full attention into! The new graphic novel is pretty good too; I love seeing the different expressions that the artist devised--Artemis just constantly being Done and pinching the bridge of his nose is prime mood. xD
