I love the topics of adulthood and growing distances between those whom you were close with addressed in the book.
Of course, the fanfiction writing was the main reason I read the book... ♪(´▽`) However, I have to say that I was not used to the writing at first because this is a very character-driven novel and doesn't have a very exhilarating plot at first. (I usually am motivated to read when there is a hooking plot but this time at first there was not so it took me some time to get into it I gave it a 4/5 but it is just personal preference)
Although, once I got into the story, it was a very rewarding and fun read. I love the fandom part and the sprinkles of fanfiction the author put in throughout the book. Nevertheless, this book was not just about all the fun parts of college life and "growing up". The book does tackle aspects of social anxiety, depression, and alcoholism but not as much so it wasn't too heavy of a read.
Finally, what I liked most about the book was the romance. I won't spoil anything but it was a little surprising for me to find at first but very adorable nevertheless. ( ̄▽ ̄* )ゞ
If you want a book with fun characters, interesting interactions, and situations about college life and growing up but also tackling the struggles with sprinkles of fanfics here and there, you might enjoy this! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
